Chantel’s Story
I was frustrated and disappointed with the traditional healthcare system, which seemed to focus more on treating symptoms than identifying and addressing the root cause of my issues. In addition to this, I was working long hours as a corporate lawyer throughout my 20’s and 30’s, often prioritising work at the expense of my health. Although I had achieved great success as a corporate lawyer, I was feeling unfulfilled and knew things had to change.
It was my own journey to better health, coupled with my passion for natural medicine that eventually led me to abruptly quit my job as a corporate lawyer in 2015 and study health coaching and naturopathy. I set up my own legal consulting business working from home and for over 3 years, I juggled the demands of running a business with my studies. It wasn’t easy ,but I loved every minute knowing I was being led down this special path for a reason.
There were many twists and turns on my journey to becoming a naturopath, including moving from Sydney back to my hometown of Perth in 2018 and undergoing IVF to have my son Maverick in 2020.
Along the way, I discovered a way to combine my legal and natural health careers, by starting my business Legally Healthy, which provides legal solutions and templates to small businesses, with a niche for health and wellness-based businesses. In 2021, I joined the board of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society, the longest-running natural medicine association in Australia, having been voted in by my peers for a 3-year term.
In 2022, I knew the time was right to focus my attention back on my naturopathy business. In the last few years, we’ve seen a rise of unqualified wellness “influencers,” promoting fad diets and miracle products. Thanks to the internet and social media, we are bombarded daily with conflicting health and wellness information, which only adds to the confusion and overwhelm. I knew there had to be a better way to help people achieve their health goals.
That’s why I created the Minimalist Naturopath – to offer a fresh approach to healthcare that combines functional medicine and minimalism. By focusing on the root cause of health issues and using personalised, whole-person care, I help my clients achieve lasting results. With a focus on what really matters – healthy food, exercise, and self-care – I cut through the noise and offer practical, evidence-based solutions that work.
